Kotányi presents the ‘New Collection’ of classic herb and spice sachets
 
A modern design for genuine classics: Having reached its 130th anniversary, the company will launch its classic Kotányi herb and spice sachets with a new design. The ‘New Collection’ is out to impress with its captivating quality design, its perfect aroma protection and its new colour codes. Pepper is presented in elegant black, herbs in fresh green and baking ingredients in vibrant yellow.
 
In celebration of the company’s 130th anniversary, the classic Kotányi herb and spice sachets will be given a new design which links tradition to modernity and brings quality design and modern packaging techniques together. The new, fourfold laminated packaging foil guarantees perfect aroma protection. The packaging material is of top quality, very resilient and does not crumple easily. Another innovation is the convenient ‘easy open’ system, which allows customers to open the new sachets easily and neatly.
 
Visual improvements will save time by 30%
The main visual improvements have been achieved through a clearer design, high quality product photography and colour codes for various product groups. This colour code, which assigns a specific colour to each product group, will help customers to identify pepper, seasonings, herbs, and baking ingredients on the shelf much faster and easier. The innovative and unambiguous colour codes will facilitate the locating of products. First test results have shown that the improved legibility and the new colours will save time by about 30% when looking for a specific product on the shelf (Reference: Sensor 2010, AT). On the back of the new sachet, customers will find even more product information, creative recipes and nutritional facts.
 
High quality design through art photography
All herbs and spices have been photographed to meet the highest quality requirements. Smart image composition and sophisticated variations of light and shade convey modern flair, while additional surface gloss emphasises the quality of the products. Customers were interviewed and 85% stated that they considered the new Kotányi sachets very appealing (Reference: Consumerview 2009, AT).
 
The new sachets will be available in retail shops later this year.
 
Kotányi – 130 years of successful corporate history
Throughout the year 2011, the renowned spice manufacturerKotányi, based in the charming town of Wolkersdorf in the Weinviertel region, will celebrate 130 years of successful corporate history. The Austrian company, which was founded in 1881 in the Hungarian town of Szeged, has been passed down through four generations and is now run by Erwin Kotányi, who says, “Herbs and spices have been the passion of my family for more than a century now. We proudly look back on the 130 years of our history while being aware that our past compels us to assume responsibility to future generations. By conviction, we have only offered superior quality from the very first beginnings and in the future our name will continue to be a byword for quality!”
In celebration of the anniversary, Kotányi will issue a special retro edition of the original paprika blend containing 30% more of the product for free and introduce a ‘new collection’ of the well-known spice sachets. In addition, the company will launch numerous marketing activities in retail and an advertising campaign in newspapers while establishing a strong online presence in order to celebrate this truly awesome anniversary.
