MUST TO KNOW: FIRST AID FOR HEAT SHOCK

A brief reminder: how to recognize a person suffering from heat stroke and how to give first aid.

It is very important to prepare yourself and to know how to behave in certain situations In the summer. How to recognize a person suffering from heat stroke and how to give first aid.

How to recognize?

Signs of heat stroke:

  • headaches and dizziness;
  • nausea (sometimes vomiting);
  • red, hot and dry skin;
  • absence of sweating;
  • rapid and strong pulse;
  • discomfort throughout the body;
  • body temperature is above 40 °C;
  • unconsciousness.

First aid

  • Urgently cool the victim (move him/her to a cool place or make shadow from direct sunlight);
  • Call Emergency Medical Aid (tel. 112)
  • Loosen the victim's clothes, actively ventilate and pour water on him/her;
  • Give conscious victim slowly drink a glass of water;
  • If the victim loses consciousness, assess his/her airway, breathing, circulation (cardiopulmonary resuscitation remind ABC rules) and provide appropriate assistance (try to revive).
